“The Crossings” is the host for a TSOS Sculpture show on the grounds and in their spa and retreat center during the fall of 2008. This beautiful setting in the hills above Lake Travis is a prime and busy destination for corporate retreats, get-togethers and conferences. It’s a gorgeous spot! 30 TSOS sculptors work will be represented with over 100 pieces of art on exhibit. This juried show which was to run from October 1st through December 14, 2008, was extended until 2009.
Sunrise
Truck u-bolts welded on top of each other represent a city landscape. The sun is constructed from the remains of a hay rake and rods from woven steel protective mesh.
Twister Rings
is one in a series of four, which uses the rings from a two piece truck wheel. All the bends where there when I salvaged them from the metal recycling yard, and only had to arrange them to stand alone and twist when gently moved.
Giant Poppies
Their petals and leaves were cut from a large underground fuel tank. The centers of the blooms were salvaged from a local welding shop, and the stems are rebar which was used to reinforce concrete.
