Sculpture on Main 2008-2009

Sculpture on Main is a public art program of outdoor three-dimensional artwork placed in highly visible and accessible places in Marble Falls.  The purpose is to promote Marble Falls as a fine art destination by bringing gallery and museum art outdoors for everyone to enjoy.  The program hopes to encourage tourism and art education by bringing people to the downtown area.  This sculpture event was the first of its kind in the heart of the Texas Hill Country.  Large scale outdoor sculptures were placed in the Historic Main Street area of Marble Falls, expanding to the parks on Lake Marble Falls.  Sculptures from several countries are on loan and will be displayed in landscaped areas along Main Street.

Family Walk

is made up thirty-three large u-bolts, originally used to hold leaf springs on large trucks, joined end to end. They are mounted on the base of a large commercial sign post.

Rocking Rings

is seven truck wheel rings. Since they are spring steel, they flex and move at the slightest touch, always returning to their original position.

Seven-Petal Fun Flower

was left in its natural rusted state. The petals, leaves and base were cut from a salvaged underground fuel tank. The stems are rebar once used to reinforce concrete.
