welcome to dbmetalart
Welcome to my world of salvaged steel sculpture, where I reclaim discarded metal of all kinds and use it to create sculptures designed to enhance our personal and corporate environment. As an artist and sculptor I believe I am in tune to the benefits of recycling man-made items which often end up just rusting away on someone's property or in a landfill. My metal art sculptures are designed to embrace the dramatic character of these found items, which has evolved from the wear and tear imposed by man and the uncompromising influence of the natural environment.
This bright yellow “Seven-Petal Fun Flower” is part of the Children’s Garden in the Shangri La Botanical Gardens in Orange, Texas.
“Fun Flowers XL” started out in my own sculpture garden and then spent a year in Marble Falls, Texas as part of Sculpture On Main, but now can be seen in W. M. Brook Park in Lampasas, Texas.
The blooms are four feet across and have as their center a gear from a truck rearend.
“The Gift” is another in the Stick Figures series, in which I use rebar to draw human figures and then set them among flowers, which I believe are an expression of God’s love.
I use the simple lines to express what I consider “the things that matter most”.
